Need a TfL functional driving test to get back to work? We know the wait has been stressful — so we move fast. We aim to complete your assessment and send your report within 14 days of your booking date, quicker than anywhere else.
We understand what's at stake, and we want to help you return to work as soon as possible. You'll get a calm, professional assessment and a clear, honest report you can rely on.
What the assessment involves
We come to you and assess in your local area. The assessment has four parts:
An eyesight check — reading a number plate from 20 metres
A physical check — range of movement, strength and coordination
A cognitive check — if needed, depending on the reason for your assessment
The drive — around 45 minutes across different road types
Your vehicle or ours
You can take the drive in your own vehicle or in ours for a small extra cost. If you use your own vehicle, please bring proof of insurance.
Your assessor
Your assessment is carried out by Michael Gambin — the only assessor living in London with the DipHE in Driving Assessment and Outdoor Mobility, the qualification this test requires. Michael has carried out these assessments for Transport for London since 2020.
